Rice and Peas
I don't know if I should call this the No.1. As far as I am concerned, we have a whole heap of No.1 "pon" the island.
We eat this one every Sunday with chicken...and we never get tired of it. If Sunday come and we don't eat rice and peas and chicken, we "no" feel right... If you want to know how to cook it, click here.
Curry Chicken
I made the "mistake" of taking this one to a potluck at my job the other day. Now everybody want me to cook it for them. I don't think so!
The idea was to give them a taste of one of Jamaica's best! Nothing else!
Well, a few of them would not let me off the hook, so I decided to give them the recipe.
But let me say this! If you have never tasted Jamaican curry chicken, you don't know what you are missing! If you want "fe" try it, click here.
Ackee and Saltfish and Dumplings
Whew! another favorite among Jamaican foods! This one is so nice that the government slap the tag of NATIONAL DISH "pon" it.

Jamaican Meat patty
Another delicious delight...
we eat this one on the island almost everyday...mainly for lunch with a bottle of 'soft drinks' (soda) and a cocoa bread on the side.
Though there are different kinds of meat patties, the most popular one is the spicy beef patty. Learn how to make yours the easy way right here.
Jerk Chicken
Another all-time favorite! Everybody love this one!The key to this one is the smoke from the fire. That along with the spices really nice up the flavor.
When the cooking done, you just chop it up and add your jerk sauce along with a slice of Jamaican bread. here's the secret
You can also check out it is done at the famous Pork Pit in Montego Bay
Escovitch Fish
Hmmm....Hmmmm! All you need for this one is some fish from the Caribbean waters. Sorry! I tried other fishes, but it's just not the same. No offense!
My favorite fish to use for this one is red snapper.
It is very easy to cook, here's the recipe...
Callaloo
The last one on the list of Jamaican foods, for now, is callaloo. I call this poor man food.
Reason being, you can plant it in your back yard, take care of it, and reap and cook when its ready. You don't have to have a whole lot of money for this one!
...and we have a whole heap of ways to cook it. I will just give you one of the ways.
but...just like the others, if you cook it right, you don't need meat. here's the recipe!
