Asafa Powell is Back in Training
A little less than 48 hours after withdrawing from the men's 100 metres at the 13th IAAF World Athletics Championships, former world record holder Asafa Powell is back in training hoping to run in the 4x100 metres relay next weekend.
According to his agent Paul Doyle, Powell is very close to being ready for competition, but needs a little more time for recovery from his niggling hamstring injury, that saw him skip the London Diamond League earlier this month. Between now and the 4x100m next weekend may just be the amount of time Powell needs to make his return.
The men's 100 m began last night with the final set for Sunday. Bolt won his heat in with a simple canter.
