BABY TRADITIONS

Q: I have a friend that married a Jamaican girl and me and another friend would like to throw her a baby shower. Are there any jamaican traditions for this? Because we know she probably misses her home and family we really like to do something special for her

A: The gift part is the same like everywhere else, but since she is a Jamaican, you could cook some Jamaican food for her, get some Jamaican comedy movies (Oliver At Large and so on...) for her to watch, play some Jamaican Music, invite some of her Jamaican friends to come over...and even give her a surprise trip to Jamaica in the present (if you can afford it)...and she should feel right at home.
