Baked Custard


1 egg

1/2 pt milk

1/2 oz granulated sugar

flavoring vanilla essence




1. Warm milk to blood heat

2. Beat egg and sugar together and add the milk and vanilla essence

3. Strain in a greased pie dish and grate a little nutmeg on top

4. Place the dish in a tin and surround it with water

5. Bake in a slow over at 350 degrees for about 4o minutes

6. Cool and enjoy warm or refrigerate after cool and enjoy cold
