A: Jamaica was first inhabited by Arawaks, living in simple communities based on fishing, hunting, and small scale cultivation of cassava.
Then the spanish came and colonized the inhabitants...who could not withstand the harsh treatment, then the british came drove out the spanish, brought in african slaves, slavery lasted for a while...but was eventually abolished in the 1800's. Jamaica is now and independent nation comprising mainly of of africa decendants.
