Heart broken, Tears flowing, James Rodriquez trade shirt with David Luiz as Brazil end Colombia World Cup run 2-1.
First Half Highlights
Colombia was so brave, they gave it their all, but today was not to be be their day.
In spite of the loss, James Rodriquez emerged as the “new” superstar of Soccer. He score 6 goals in 5 matches, two ahead of his closet rival and could be well on his way to win the golden boots.
One goal from Tiago Silva in the 7th minute off a Neymar Corner and a free kick from David Luiz in the 67th minute was enough to give Brazil the win. james Rodriquez came back late in the second half to score a penalty kick when Julius Ceasar the goalkeeper brought down a Colombian player. Ceasar received a yellow card.
Second Half Highlights
Though the tournament is done for Rodriquez, we will definitely be hearing more about this talented youngster for some time to come…he carried the Colombian team on his shoulders throughout the tournament…well done.
Brazil did not give the normal Brazilian show…and they fizzled in the end…especially with the loss of Neymar to a nasty knee in the lower back by Juan Ziniga…je had to be stretchered off.
The Brazilians will also be without Tiago Silva and Neymar in the semifinal game. Silva received two yellow cards before the semifinals.
These are huge loses for the team as Silva is the heart of the Brazilian defense and Naymar is the main offensive threat. He has already scored 4 goals and is deadly on set pieces.
The game is on Tuesday, we will see how it pans out…
