Q: how does the climate influence the country's food choices?

A: In a sense it is reponsible for a lot of the food type that you find on the Island: oranges, plums, star apples, banana, naseberry, guineppe, jackfruit, sweet sop, ground products...just to name a few...all thrives in the tropical climate.
