Coming into the race, he knew he had to be flawless to cap off a brilliant season.

He shot out of the blocks and for the first two hurdles was under pressure from the other runners, but he held his composure and pulled away to win by about 2 meters.

The sprinting nation of Jamaica saw something tonight that they have never seen before. Omar Mcleod joined the ranks as one of Jamaica’s best sprinters only this time it is in the hurdles.

Just 22 years old, He stormed on the scene to rank #1 in the world, and to become the world indoor champion. He was on top of his game tonight.

History beckoned…and he delivered.
