"Rasta?"

Q: So this is probably stupid, but i was playing grand theft auto on ps3 and there is a jamaican friend of mine that always says "rasta" randomly in a sentence. what does this mean?

A: That's just his way of addressing you and/or the situation without calling either by name. It has no particular meaning...in the true sense of the word. It is like saying "that was dope iyah," or "that was the best move ever mon," or "I am better that you star."

Instead of saying "iyah, mon, or star" he simply says "rasta."
