What Does The Book Of Leviticus Say About Diet?

by Rachel

Q: In the book of Leviticus, what does it say about the dietary law for rasafarians?

A: Leviticus 11 distinguishes between clean and unclean meats for human consumption.

Most people around the world eat several of the unclean meats mentioned here...including pork, shellfish, crabs, lobster, shrimps, and other animals in the ocean and other waters that does not have fins and scales.

Rastafarians have chosen to separate themselves from this by sticking to the strict dietary law established here and eat only clean meats if any at all.

Bear in mind that some rastafarians stick to strict vegetarian diet.
