I see a lot of recipes that call for dried coconut and when I try to research it I only find things like packaged dried coconut flakes. I know this is not what is being called for in recipes like coconut drops. My question is can I drain the milk out of a coconut and dry it myself or is it something entirely different.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
A: A dried coconut is one that is fully developed to point where the shell becomes really hard and the coconut itself become hard as well.
You can actually find this in some stores…in which case you just have to break it, drain out the water and use the coconut inside.
The younger coconuts are called jelly, it is not the same.
