Yohan Blake Powers his way to 100m Diamond League Win - Crystal Palace in 9.95 s.

by Mike Holt
(Jamaica)

He wasn't the fastest runner out of the blocks, but that did not stop this fleet footed Jamaican from powering his way to win the 100m at the Diamond League in Crystal Palace England...and he did it in style, 9.95s in a (-1.6 m/s) headwind.

No, there were no Tyson Gaye, Asafa Powell, or Usain Bolt in this race, but Blake has proven time and again that he is serious about this business of sprinting and he intends to carve out a name for himself in this event. He knows the competition his tough, but that will not deter him.

...as they say, "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going." That's exactly what Blake intends to do...and who knows, he may very well be the next Jamaican start sprinter.
